The veteran Nationalist will not attend the conference in Aberdeen as he appeals his temporary suspension from the party.
Fergus Ewing will shun the SNP conference in Aberdeen this weekend as the rebel MSP warned the party faced entering a period of "very serious decline". The Inverness MSP is currently appealing his temporary suspension from the Nationalist group of MSPs at Holyrood.
"He has a relatively short window between now and Christmas to turn this around. I have no sense he is planning to do that," he told the Press and Journal. Scottish politics It comes after the Record reported how some Nationalists have spoken out against Yousaf's strategy to achieve independence. The First Minister has endorsed a conference motion which says the SNP will have a mandate to begin independence negotiations if it wins most seats in Scotland at the next general election.
