Two female bank employees were arrested for their alleged involvement in a R3 million bank robbery in Ivory Park Mall, Midrand. The arrests were made within 48 hours after the robbery, leading to the recovery of bank envelopes and a recently hijacked VW car.

"After the robbery was reported to the police, a team comprising of Gauteng police detectives, Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation also known as the Hawks, members from police crime intelligence, Gauteng Highway Patrol and bank investigators were established to trace and arrest the suspects.
Masondo said the team proceeded to Ga-Rankuwa in Tshwane where the second suspect, who is reported to be the kingpin, was tracked down and arrested.
