Justin Foley, 47, of Delaware, Ohio, is accused of secretly photographing and recording girls in dressing rooms and other places.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A former chemistry teacher at a high school in Columbus is facing multiple federal criminal charges after authorities say he used hidden cameras in dressing rooms and other places to take explicit videos and photos of female students.
Foley had been a teacher at Columbus Alternative High School since 2013. He was suspended from his job in September after he was arrested by Delaware police. The federal charges will supersede the local charges. Police in Delaware received a tip in August from the the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, saying a Google email account linked to Foley had suspected child pornography images, several of which were girls ages 12 to 16.
Prosecutors say it is clear the victims in the videos do not realize they are being recorded. Foley reportedly admitted to creating videos in the classroom and hallways of Columbus Alternative High School.
