Most federal government offices and services will be closed today for the Easter Monday holiday.
Other businesses such as banks and post offices will also be closed for the day, with Canada Post deliveries resuming on Tuesday. Shops, restaurants and other amenities will be open as Easter Monday is not a regulated stat holiday, though an independent business may wish to observe it. All municipal services will be open today, including St. John’s City Hall, meaning the weekly council meeting will go ahead this afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
