A federal judge in Florida appointed by former President Donald Trump throws out the Center for Disease Control’s nationwide mask mandate for public transportation.
US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle ruled Monday that the CDC was outside of its authority when it instated the mandate on public transportation to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The ruling took effect immediately, however, mask mandates remain in some places. The CDC advises people to wear masks on public transportation as COVID-19 cases rise across the country.
