The event, which starts at 6 pm Eastern Time, will see speeches in the first hour from interim leader Candice Bergen and party president Rob Batherson, who will be there in person, as well as from former leader Erin O’Toole via video. The second hour is dedicated to the announcement of the results.
Before then, the party will have to process the nearly 418,000 ballots that were received and accepted by the September 6 deadline. Brodie admitted that the party did consider cancelling the event altogether, but that officials deemed “appropriate” to go ahead with it provided the changes in tone were made.
