The Blaugrana seem set to make yet another signing, having sealed a deal for France defender Jules Kounde last week to take the number of new signings made in this window to five following the acquisitions of Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.
It is also said the 27-year-old is seen as a replacement for the potentially outgoing Frenkie de Jong, whose sale is believed to be key to freeing up some space on the club's wage bill.
Meanwhile, it is further reported that while City see Silva as untouchable, they have lined up Olympique Lyon star Lucas Paqueta as a potential replacement should the diminutive playmaker leave for Barca.
