The crash occurred Monday afternoon in Upper Deerfield Township.
Kristofer Noone, 24, of Pennsauken and John Noone III, 67, of Elmer, were aboard a Champion Aeronca 7AC fixed-wing, single-engine plane that crashed around 2:15 p.m. in the yard of a home on Parvin Mill Road in Upper Deerfield Township, according to a State Police spokeswoman.
No additional details on the crash, including whether the plane had just taken off from the airport when it crashed or was returning there, were available Tuesday morning, according to a spokesman with the National Transportation Safety Board, which is handling the investigation. “NTSB investigators will look at the human, machine and environment as the outline of the investigation,” he said.
John Noone III received a commercial pilot certification on Sept. 1 of this year, according to Federal Aviation Administration records. Kristofer Noone received his airline transport pilot certification on the same date, along with certifications as a flight instructor and ground instructor.Kristofer Noone worked as a pilot for Spirit Airlines, flying out of Atlantic City, Pearl said, describing the 24-year-old as very accomplished for his age.
