A Dominican father's journey to be reunited with his daughter came to a tragic end last month when he died while trying to cross the border from Canada into the U.S.
Friends and family members told the Post that the 32-year-old had tried to get a U.S. tourist visa to visit his daughter. However, he was reportedly rejected for reasons that are unclear. Newsweek has contacted the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs for comment. According to those who knew him, Reynoso had been well-known and well-liked in Guaraguao, the farming town he had traveled from.
