For 126 years the Corsicana bakery has been making fruitcakes that have become a holiday tradition for families not just in Texas, but around the world.
An advertisement for Collin Street Bakeryâs âDeLuxeâ fruit cake in the Corsicana Daily Sun from the early 1900âs is on display in the cafe area of the bakery on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022 in Corsicana.The bakery owners believe the key to their success is the quality of their ingredients. Along with the pecans, they use locally sourced honey for their batter. Their cherries come from the U.S., and the pineapple from an organic farm the bakery owns in Costa Rica.
Some of Collin Street Bakery employees: L: Bob McNutt, President and CEO in his office above the Corsicana shop and bakery. Avis Brown, 62, has worked at the Collin Street Bakery store for 41 years. L: Jerry Grimmett, 88, is one of the longest-serving employees. Elizabeth Bininon, 28, is working her second year in quality control in the bakery.
