A fan-favorite Jason Sudeikis comedy has made its way to the top of the Netflix charts in the wake of Ted Lasso season 3's final episode.
A fan-favorite Jason Sudeikis comedy tops the Netflix charts following the Ted Lasso finale. A surprise hit for Apple TV+, the feel-good comedy Ted Lasso proved a big career booster for Sudeikis, but the actor’s run as the mustache-wearing, rom-com-loving Lasso appears at an end after the show’s recent finale.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT While Ted Lasso viewers await news on the potential future of the Apple TV+ show, Netflix subscribers are getting their Sudeikis fix elsewhere, and have in fact vaulted the actor’s 2013 comedy We’re the Millers to the #1 spot on the streaming service . According to data, the movie has been #1 on Netflix since Sunday, besting the likes of The Boss Baby, The Choice and To Leslie.
Could We’re The Millers 2 Now Be In The Offing Starring Jennifer Aniston alongside Sudeikis, We’re the Millers was a sleeper hit back in 2013, grossing $270 million worldwide against a reported budget of $37 million. New Line Cinema unsurprisingly promised a sequel coming off that strong performance, but as of 2023, We’re the Millers 2 still has not happened, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like there are any plans for that sequel to happen soon.
But now that Netflix subscribers have shown their love for the original We’re the Millers, perhaps the streamer could step in and make that long-awaited reunion happen. Sudeikis for his part has nothing else announced in the pipeline coming off the Ted Lasso finale, and might relish a chance to revisit one of his bigger movie hits.
