Family worried for 79-year-old Nanaimo man missing for 10 days

Mounties are asking the public to help locate a 79-year-old Nanaimo man who hasn’t been seen since July 25.Olson told his family he was going to Campbell River, Gold River and Port Hardy. His family told Nanaimo RCMP that he normally goes for four or five days, but has never been gone this long.Olson has no cellphone and is travelling with his tan and black dog, a Rhodesian ridgeback. He likes to hike along trails with his dog and avoids crowds and campgrounds, according to family members.

Police ask anyone with information on Olson’s whereabouts to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2022-26644.
