More than £2,000 has been raised in Georgia's memory
A Nottinghamshire family are continuing the legacy of a beloved wife and mum who died after fighting cancer for more than two decades. Georgina Bacon, of Colwick, passed away aged 35 earlier this year, after she had been diagnosed with a brain tumour at age 12.
After she finished college she later found herself housebound due to complications in her treatment. Georgia later became a beloved wife and a mother to her "miracle son", and she also did a lot of charity work to give back to Macmillan, who had offered her support and helped her gain independence.Georgia ran a number of her own Macmillan coffee mornings, and in 2021 this grew to an event attracting 150 people and 14 stalls.
"It’s what Georgina would have wanted," he said. "We spoke with the team at the funeral home, and they helped us get everything set up, making the process as easy as it could possibly be. "She’d be overwhelmed with the amount we’ve raised, as we all are; it truly is a testament to how loved Georgina was. It warms our hearts to know the funds will go towards helping families in similar situations."
