He was first released in 2016
The family of a child killer’s Northamptonshire victim are battling to find out why he was put back in jail. Adam Stein, originally from Glasgow, was jailed for the rape and murder of six-year-old Collette Gallacher in Corby in 1986.
Collette was walking to a bus stop on her way to Our Lady of Walsingham Primary School when Stein lured her away with a packet of crisps. The strangled schoolgirl’s body was found six days later in the monsters attic. Then aged 26, he was jailed for life and told he would have to serve a minimum of 20 years. The authorities have refused to disclose why Stein, who has been given a new identity, is back behind bars.
