The show home was the Moraine model, a 1,265-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom townhome with an open-concept floor plan, a detached double garage and a fully landscaped and fenced yard. The home’s lower level adds another 500 square feet of undeveloped living space. The new community of Waterford, located on the southwest edge of Chestermere, also held appeal. Developed by Douglas Developments, the development arm of Douglas Homes, the community graces 188 acres and is located close to everything. This is the first solo development project for Douglas Developments, and Doug Whitney, vice-president of sales at Douglas Homes, says the inspiration and vision are really entwined with the values of Douglas Homes.
“They value the outdoors and the small-town feel, yet with big city amenities. People want a place to walk the dog; where there is fresh air and bigger lots,” he says, adding that buyers are coming from everywhere — Ontario, British Columbia and Calgary.
