We got to have a break because we’ve done five year old, four year old, one year old, and now another one. We’ve got to have a little bit of a break, I think.’Luckily for Joe, he’s a fan of a hectic household. ‘I just love the chaos. I don’t like quiet,’ he told us.‘And I’m so used to having kids running around, and it is stressful.
‘I think Leni, she’s always on me, she’s always on Rosie, so I don’t know how she’s going to react to the new baby coming. But they adapt, don’t they, pretty quickly. And I’ve just got to spend a bit more time cuddling Leni and looking after her and stuff so she doesn’t feel left out when the new one comes along.’
‘So I really try to be a different parent. So when my kids are whinging and arguing and fighting and it goes from zero to 100, my stress levels got really high. My cortisol goes really high. And I want to scream and shout. ‘And the reason Marley is getting good at football is because I’m out there in the rain when it was freezing cold and pi**ing down.

But new research — part of the Children of the 90s study — has been published in the journal Paediatric Research and questions whether measuring fat as waist-to-height ratio would be more effective. I know I’m firmly in the minority when it comes to thinking weighing children in schools should be stopped. And I get it. We weigh babies and toddlers to determine how healthy they are, so why is it a problem to weigh primary school kids too?
We are teaching them that being fat is bad and being thin is good. So it’s no surprise that eating disorders in children have increased by 66%. The Women & Equalities Commission’s cross parliamentary inquiry into body image stated: ‘We recommend that the Government urgently reviews the NCMP to ensure it is not creating undue body image pressures in children.
Rather than just being about weight, in an ideal world, the scales should indicate bone mass, muscle mass, water percentage, and height, providing a comprehensive view of the child’s physique. This information can be presented in percentiles, similar to how it’s done at birth.Every six months, we measure their height and compare it to the average for their age. For example, I might explain, ‘If 100 children were lined up, you would be the 79th tallest.
Schools could play a role in this by providing parents with comprehensive fitness reports, including assessments like the bleep test for kids, these could simply be completed in PE. Sure, we’ve all taken some supermarket popcorn and drink to sneak into a film before, but what about when the kids ask for a hot dog or nachos with cheese sauce?Casey shows how she takes freshly cooked hot dog sausages in a warmed flask and puts each sausage into a sliced finger roll before adding ketchup from a sachet.
‘Make sure the flask you add it to has had boiling water in for 15 mins to make it nice and hot, remove the water fully then add the cheese.’ Another thought it would encourage cinemas to enforce a no food rule, saying, ‘Unpopular opinion, but I think this is taking the p*ss. I get that it’s saving money. I’m all for taking in some sweets, popcorn, and some drinks but by doing this cinema’s are going to start enforcing no food is allowed to be brought it at all. Which then ruins it for everyone and then isn’t a very good hack!’
1. Find out if you’re free to leave your provider Martin told fans the first step is to check if you’re locked into a contract. 2. Use a comparison site Next, you’ll want to find out which provider will be best for you and your needs. The show takes place at London County Hall, a historic landmark in the heart of the capital next to the London Eye, so it’s in a great location and is super easy to get to when you’re in London.
It revolves around Leonard Vole who is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. Throughout the tale, he aims to convince the jury of his innocence and avoid being sent to his death. We spoke to the people next to us in the intervals guessing who was guilty, but very few people guessed correctly.‘The perfect gift’ This production appeals to anyone captivated by intriguing courtroom dramas and thrilling mysteries. It’s suitable for both seasoned theatre-goers and those new to the genre.
Various seating options are available to suit different preferences and budgets. I would suggest spending the extra money on the courtroom stalls, if you can afford it. Households who claim one of the four affected payments will keep getting their old payments for two more weeks after they apply for Universal Credit.
The announcement read: ‘In 2024/25, the DWP will contact the remaining tax credit claimants , and all claimants of Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance , and Housing Benefit. How much you’ll get depends on what you’re usually paid, but those on Income Support, Housing Benefit, Income-based JSA and Income-related ESA will get the extra two weeks worth of payments as long as they still meet the eligibility criteria.
Will I need to pay the money back? No, the DWP has confirmed that you won’t need to pay the extra money back and it won’t affect how much Universal Credit you receive either. ‘Parents should act now’ The government has announced today that applications for the second phase of the expansion of free childcare will open on 12 May, and the DfE is encouraging parents to act as quickly as they can to secure a childcare place for their child in September.
So, currently with the free hours only available to two-year-olds, you could have applied from when your child was 1 year and 36 weeks old, but this will change with the larger-scale September roll-out of childcare. A DfE spokesperson said: ‘Children become eligible for a free early education place at different points in the year, depending on when the child turns the relevant age.‘Parents are only able to claim the entitlements from the term after because this gives local authorities enough time to prepare and offer adequate early years places for parents every term, since they can anticipate when children will start using a place.
If you’re already registered for tax-free childcare, then to get your code you’ll need to wait for your ‘reconfirmation window’ to open. Every three months, working parents are asked to reconfirm their details to ensure their circumstances are the same. When you’re next eligible to do this, you will then automatically be issued your code to pass on to your childcare provider.
‘Local authorities are continuing to work closely with providers to make sure there are enough places for those who need them. Parents can apply for codes for September until 31 August, and the government has urged providers to communicate available government-funded places as soon as possible. How much does brow lamination cost? Brow lamination can cost anywhere between £45 and £100. Prices will vary depending on where you’re based, who performs the treatment and if they charge extra for any add-ons, like tinting.
I was also told to wash them in the shower with shampoo, to make sure there wasn’t a build-up of oil.‘Felt instantly prettier’ I didn’t think brow lamination would work for me. Like most women my age, my brows were over-plucked in the 90s, for at least a decade, and I don’t think they’ve ever fully recovered! But the more before and after pics I saw on Insta, the more I wanted to give it a try.
