Police said the robbery happened Tuesday morning on Route 283 in Londonderry Township.

Two people pretending to be police officers stole $30,000 from a man after pulling him over Tuesday in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

A dark-colored SUV equipped with red and blue flashing lights stopped a man driving a white, windowless van around 11:30 a.m. on Route 283 west, at mile marker 7 in Londonderry Township, according to state police. State police said the SUV’s driver forced the 48-year-old man in the van to remove his keys from the ignition as a second dark-colored vehicle arrived at the scene.

While the first fake police officer stood by the van, the other searched the vehicle and stole about $30,000 in cash, state police said. It’s unclear why the van was carrying so much cash.Anyone who saw this incident or has information can call state police at 717-671-7500.
