Max Verstappen enjoyed himself after winning his third F1 title Max Verstappen has lifted the lid on how he celebrated his latest Formula One title win – drinking ‘a few gin and tonics’ the night before the Qatar Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver wrapped up his third consecutive drivers’ championship at the last round at the Losail International Circuit – though unusually he was crowned champion on a Saturday.
He has the chance to overtake both Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel’s tallies before the end of the season, which would put him third on the list for most wins, behind only Sir Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. Vettel won four titles in a row a decade ago for Red Bull, but team boss Christian Horner believes the Dutchman is exceeding his German predecessor, telling Standard Sport: ‘We’ve worked with some greats.
