An internal memo has revealed that the National Prosecuting Authority advised against advocate Malesela Teffo being arrested in court in front of the media.
Teffo, who is representing four of the men accused of murdering Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa, was arrested on 28 April at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria. He was handcuffed and taken to the court's holding cells moments after the Meyiwa murder trial was postponed.
