Consultancy Bain & Co has, for the first time, acknowledged that one of its partners met with a member of the Gupta family in Dubai to discuss building a medical hub. The meeting in January 2016 was attended by a top director of Bain's Indian office, as well as Tony Gupta, Salim Essa, and Indian national Sunil Sachdeva, the co-founder of hospital group Medanta.
Sachdeva is known to have been involved with the Gupta family in a company called Cureva, which became embroiled in a tender scandal in the Free State and the North West for mobile health units.
