The snow comes amid a bone-chilling drop to -8C temperatures
Snow is set to blast Scotland this week as the Met Office has issued a warning ahead of snowfall that could reach up to 10cm.
The yellow warning for the wintery conditions will first come into place at midnight on Wednesday, December 7 and will last until 11.59pm. This means that affected areas could be hit with snow - and the potential disruption that it may cause - for the entire day. A large bulk of the north of Scotland will be included in the weather warning which was first issued on Saturday.Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill has said overnight temperatures from Wednesday into Thursday could drop to -8C – or even colder.
Last week, STV weatherman Sean Batt warned of early December snow and asked that Scots look out for "more vulnerable" people in their communities.
