Ex-Spain coach Luis Enrique heads to South Africa for a mountain bike race in Cape Town
Based on the timelines of his social media posts, the 52-year-old has had all the time to prepare for the iconic mountain bike race that takes place from March 19 to 26 in Cape Town.
In a statement released by the Cape Epic organisers this week, former FC Barcelona player Luis Enrique was named among “a galaxy of stars” who will tackle the trek across a 658km stretch that also measures 16 000m of hill climbing.As ever, a galaxy of stars will also be joining the field.
After the completion of Stage 5, the route will lead to Lourensford Wine Estate en route to Stage 6 on March 25 and the finish at Val de Vie the following day. Last year’s title was won by German riders Georg Egger and Lukas Baum.
