The former defensive back for the Patriots and Colts, among other teams, is being sought by police in his Chicago-area hometown after his mother was found dead.
Citing injuries to Myrtle Brown deemed to have been suffered during an assault, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Sunday that her death was a homicide, per the Tribune.Maywood police officials did not immediately respond Sunday night to a request for an update on the search for Brown and for further comment on the case.
A native of Maywood who attended high school there before going on to a four-year career at Notre Dame, Brown played defensive back for four NFL teams between 2010 and 2016. He played infor the New England Patriots, who had signed him out of college as an undrafted free agent, and in the AFC championship game for the Indianapolis Colts after the 2014 season. Brown ended his NFL career with brief stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills.on Sunday they had not heard from Brown.
