But former state Senate President Stephen Sweeney is still considered a candidate for governor in 2025.

told NJ Advance Media on Thursday he will not run to regain his old Senate seat in November’s elections, two years after losing it in a stunning upset to a little-known Republican.

But Sweeney, 63, once again insisted he is not done with politics.
