Ghana were a penalty kick away from becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup, but Asamoah Gyan failed to convert his spot-kick in regulation time which would have secured the win over Uruguay.The Black Stars went on to lose to the South Americans on penalty and Appiah has not forgotten about that infamous night.
"I get goosebumps when I hear about the 2010 World Cup. it will haunt me for the rest of my life," Appiah told Al Jazeera. “It’s going to be difficult, 2006 when we went to the World Cup in Germany we were underdogs”, Appiah tells Al Jazeera.
