Ex-French President Slams Mbappe Over PSG Exit
A former president of France has criticised Kylian Mbappe for the way in which he left Paris Saint-Germain .The France captain is now a Real Madrid star after a drawn-out transfer saga involving the Spanish giants and the Ligue 1 juggernauts.
When his PSG contract was soon to expire in 2022 and rumours intensified regarding a mooted move to the Santiago Bernabeu, it was reported that French president Emmanuel Macron called the speedy winger to try to convince him to stay with Les Parisiens. Nicolas Sarkozy served as the president of France between 2007 and 2012, and is also understood to be a big PSG fan. He claims that while the desire to seek new challenges is understandable, the way in which Mbappe did so in particular is questionable.
