A former Al Ahly coach has come to the defence of Pitso Mosimane following his CAF Champions League final defeat but has scrutinised Percy Tau.Late last month, Al Ahly competed in their third consecutive CAF Champions League final but were unable to secure the elusive three-peat.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Botola Pro league leaders Wydad Casablanca, courtesy of goals from Zouhair El Moutaraji. While many former Al Ahly players have been calling for the South African’s head, ex-assistant manager for the record Egyptian Premier League winners David Sesa has come to the defence of Mosimane.
"Al Ahly didn’t play well against Wydad. Despite having a lot of good players, they weren’t having a good game," he said as per"Compared to Weiler, Mosimane’s playstyle is different, when I worked with Weiler we were more focused on attacking and scoring more goals.""Tau was very good in Belgium, but right now, his performance has gotten worse and he’s not on the level to play for Al Ahly," he added.
