The Oscar-nominated shorts, foolishly relegated to the untelevised portion of the Oscars last year, are consistently the most fascinating viewing for Oscar completists. Animation unlike anything Hollywood studios would ever produce; live-action films from Luxembourg, Greenland, and beyond; documentaries that unveil hidden truths while sometimes stretching the entire definition of the shorts.
