It looks to bring the local film community together across three action-packed days
A new film festival set to take place at a city centre venue looks to celebrate the local film community with a series of parties and activities. Nottingham Film Festival is launching this month and will allow filmmakers and audiences to connect, create collaberate across three days of action-packed entertainment.
"As a community hub, we are thrilled to be hosting such a colorful event, unapologetically in agreement with our ethos of sustainability and community-building," said Raffaele Baldo, cinema manager at Mammoth. The festival aims to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. It is taking three key environmental pledges to make sure that during the event, it will produce no plastic waste, no paper waste and no food waste. With this, it’ll be awarding an 'Environmental Impact Awareness Award' to a filmmaker who is alerting audiences to the impact humans are having on our planet.
The festival was also created to showcase films that raise awareness of mental health conditions. This includes the presentation of a “Mental Health Awareness Award”. Additionally, this is why the festival has no social media accounts or profiles, as the festival director would like to invite the audience to reconsider its role in our society and what it does to our mental health.
