Once a day, Gen Z floods an app to take a picture and share it with friends. We asked college students about their experience using BeReal.

Rishika Vinnakota, a 19-year-old sophomore studying business at the University of Michigan, told USA TODAY sheVinnakota said the app feels like a more authentic way to engage with friends than other social media sites.

“It's a different time every day, and I can just see what people are up to. And there's no filters or any modifications you can make to your picture. It's honestly very ‘be real,’" she said.
