Everton are now in even deeper trouble as they lose to Burnley BUREVE BFC EFC

Everton put themselves in even deeper trouble as they blew a 2-1 lead in their 3-2 defeat at relegation rivals Burnley.

Maxwel Cornet’s late strike gave the Clarets a crucial win, which sees them go just a point behind Frank Lampard’s side. The visitors appeared to be in control of the match at half time as two Richarlison penalties put them 2-1 up after Nathan Collins gave Sean Dyche’s men an early lead. But some wasteful finishing saw Everton fail to extend their lead and some slack Toffees defending allowed Jay Rodriguez to equalise.

Lampard’s men could’ve won it at the end but it proved to be Burnley’s day as Cornet finished emphatically to send the home faithful wild. The result sees Everton remain in 17th, however, they’re just a point above the bottom three, while 19th-placed Watford are only three points behind the Toffees.
