Graham Norton – who's back on TV with his chat show – shared the terrifying details of the time he was 'left for dead' after being stabbed - and how he now views life differently
Graham Norton recounted a harrowing ordeal where he was severely injured and "left for dead" after being viciously stabbed during the 1980s. Breaking his usual comical persona, Graham reflected that "no failure compares to dying", highlighting the severity of the terrifying incident that unfolded on the streets of London.
Describing the fateful night, Graham shared: "Getting stabbed in 1989. I lost half my blood," He went on to detail how the subsequent morning in a hospital ward brought a sobering inquiry from a nurse regarding notifying someone – possibly his parents. Graham – who quit his Virgin radio show back in February this year – remembered: "And it was a flicker on her face of 'oh do I want to hold his hand' but she did and she held out her hand." He poignantly added: "I held her hand and I think that's something so deep within us and it motivates so much of our life that we don't want to die alone.
