The preliminary NWS survey rates Tuesday's tornado in Yuma, Colorado an EF-3. It would be the first EF-3 tornado in the county since 1949. cowx

YUMA, Colo. — That would be the first time a tornado has reached an EF-3 rating, causing that amount of damage and generating such high wind speeds in Yuma County, since 1949.

The tornado carved a more than 6 mile path through the area, according to the NWS preliminary storm survey results.
