Stage 2 LoadShedding on both Saturday and Sunday | Fin24
Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented until midnight on Friday and again during the evening peak from 16:00 until 24:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, Eskom said on Friday afternoon.
This is due to a delay in returning a generation unit to service each at Arnot, Kusile and the Koeberg power stations, as well as the failure of a generation unit each at Medupi, Hendrina, Camden, and two units at Majuba. Government's two main objectives is to improve the performance of Eskom's power stations, while adding as much new generation capacity to the grid as possible.
Similarly Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Ebrahim Patel shared on government's plans to reduce the local content requirements of solar PV modules, to get electricity on the grid as rapidly as possible.
