Eskom implements Stage 4 LoadShedding on Saturday
Johannesburg - Power blackouts, or "load shedding", has moved to Stage 4 on Saturday from 12 noon due to the loss of an additional 900 MW from the Mozambique imports, embattled state-owned power supplier Eskom said.
Earlier Eskom said "the situation remains tight and volatile and we may have to implement further load shedding should the situation deteriorate. Depending on how quickly we can restore power, this may impact the prognosis for tomorrow [Sunday] and next week,". "We continue to appeal to residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period. Please switch off geysers as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand," the parastatal said.
