Eskom deploys former employees, 'industry professionals' to various stations to claw back megawatts
The team will focus on power stations with low energy availability factors . These will include Matla, Kriel, Majuba, and Kendal power stations.
He also announced that Eskom had waived security deposit requirements to facilitate the wheeling of electricity to municipalities in good standing, a move expected to enhance power generation. Ramokgopa emphasised government's commitment to the decarbonisation agenda and ensuring that projects were strategically located in areas with access to grid capacity.
The utility expects to bring several generating units back into service in the coming days, aiming to address the current capacity constraints.
