Eskom board chairperson Mpho Makwana says Andre de Ruyter broke the law and company rules by publishing his book 'Truth to Power'.

"We also take note of what the former GCE said in his book, it must be noted and placed on record that trust was broken by him making those public statements and the publication of the book, and this trust was broken in the most repulsive manner possible," Makwana said.
"Various aspects of an executive director's duties as defined in the companies act, the PFMA and his own contract of employment clauses on confidentiality, our corporate governance teams are reviewing all this, and will take appropriate and reasonable steps to ensure that the board takes all necessary action," he said.
Eskom is considering taking action against its former CEO. It says Andre de Ruyter broke the law and company rules by publishing his book 'Truth to Power'. In the book, De Ruyter makes claims of corruption at the utility.
