According to the Environment Ministry, which oversees the B.C. Conservation Officer Service, conservation officers were called out to the zoo to help recapturing wolves that had escaped their enclosure earlier in the day. It is unclear how many wolves escaped their pens. According to the zoo website, it has nine grey wolves and six new cubs.The Greater Vancouver Zoo has not yet responded to a request for more information.

SPCA launched an investigation after an emaciated moose at the zoo was euthanized.
