An inmate serving a 20-year sentence was successfully re-arrested following a joint operation by multiple law enforcement agencies.
An inmate who escaped from the Boksburg Correctional Centre yesterday was re-arrested in the Moffat View area in the south of Johannesburg later in the afternoon.
“While searching various addresses, we received reliable information that the suspect was spotted in the Moffat View area. Our team responded along with EST, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department and SAPS. The suspect was tracked down and successfully apprehended,” he says.
