Erling Haaland may be denied a Ballon D'Or win but he has still helped to push Manchester City further into the spotlight

Erling Haaland may soon get that feeling. The Manchester City striker broke a slew of records as one of the best teams in the history of football achieved one of the rarest accomplishments, yet one of the game's best players winning the ultimate club prize may not be enough to surpass the game's greatest player finally winning the ultimate prize with his county.
It isn't just the Norwegian either to be recognised; he is one of seven Treble winners on the 30-person shortlist - more than any other club - while Ederson has been nominated for the goalkeeping prize. To add to Haaland's individual prize at the PFA awards, City had five players in the team of the year - again, more than anyone else.
"I'm not complaining here, but I feel like other clubs get a lot more credit than City for doing less," he told ESPN. "For example, when I was at Benfica — a huge club in Portugal with more fans, more everything — you do something nice, and they make it look like it's great. Here at City, you do something great and they make it look like it's just good.
