The Pittsburgh Penguins, long rumoured to be the frontrunners to obtain the 100-point Norris Trophy winner after he expressed wishes to leave the rebuilding San Jose Sharks, secured Karlssson Sunday morning in a three-team deal involving the Montreal Canadiens as a vehicle to cut salary.In the complicated exchange, Pittsburgh gets Karlsson, forward Rem Pitlick from the Habs, and both forward Dillon Hamaliuk and a third-round pick in 2026 from the Sharks.
