A Premier League manager has now revealed that his son swayed him in to signing a player.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank opened up about the role his son played in the signing of Christian Eriksen. In a remarkable comeback to the sport, the Dane signed for the Bees on a six-month deal in January 2022 only seven months after suffering a cardiac arrest while representing his national side at UEFA Euro 2020.
Speaking to former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, Frank revealed that his son Bertram, was the masterminded behind the signing. "[He made a] huge difference, 100%. Sometimes when you get a quality player of that [stature] in the team, it just makes everyone better," Frank said. The Brentford manager then added that his son brought the topic of signing Eriksen up once more in December and that was when Frank gave in.
