KHIAM, Líbano (AP) — Un videógrafo de Reuters muerto por el cañoneo israelí en el sir de Líbano fue enterrado en su pueblo natal el sábado tras una procesión fúnebre a la que asistieron cientos de personas.
El cuerpo de Issam Abdallah, envuelto en la bandera libanesa, fue cargado en una camilla por las calles de Khiam desde su casa familiar hasta el cementerio local. Decenas de periodistas y legisladores libaneses asistieron al funeral.
El ejército libanés dijo el sábado en un comunicado que las fuerzas israelíes lanzaron el obús que alcanzó al auto en que viajaban Abdallah y otros periodistas, los que resultaron heridos. Añadió que un helicóptero artillado y la artillería israelíes atacaron otras zonas del sur del Líbano, entre ellas las aldeas de Marwaheen, Kfar Chouba, Aita al-Shaab y Odaisseh.
