Runners and walkers of all fitness levels have been urged to enter the Benoni Northerns Night Race set for October 26.
The race, which is normally awash with colour and costumes, offers 5km and 10km runs through the streets of Benoni, with festive water stops, music and lights along the route.
“With a passion for athletics evident and growing in Ekurhuleni, Benoni Northern’s Athletics Club calls young runners to be part of this year’s BNAC Night Race. “Sponsor Jan L. Jordaan encourages young athletes to wear their school kit for the race. Children must be 15 years old to do the 10km. There is no age restriction for the 5km. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult,” BNAC administrator Kerry Webb said.
“A big part of what makes the BNAC Night Race so special is the residents of Benoni who light up their driveways and stand outside to cheer on the runners. We hope to see this Benoni spirit shining on the day.”
