Electricity Minister, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has insisted that the end of load shedding is indeed in sight.
Ramokgopa’s statement comes despite the country having been plunged into Stage 6 load shedding at the weekend, days after Ramaphosa made the same claim during his SONA.He says, “Medupi 4 returns to service in September, a year ahead. Unit 6 which will be synchronised in late November 2024 will add 1600mw to grid. In addition unit 2 of Koeberg will return to service in September 2024, these will add 2500mW to grid in 2024. The end of load shedding is indeed in sight.
