A chip shop that first opened in 1943 is set to close next month. Britain was still at war when family-run Tennants began serving fish and chips in Long Eaton. The traditional takeaway was one of the few foods not rationed during the war.
The final day will be Saturday April 6. "We would like to thank each and every one of our customers for their support over our 81 years of service. It has been an absolute honour to serve you all," said the message.
