Andrew Phillips was jailed for 14 years
Andrew Phillips, previously of Abbey Hey in Runcorn, used EncroChat to discuss with other criminals the supply of cocaine and cannabis in the Runcorn area and beyond. The 38-year-old was caught by detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit who monitored and analysed the messages he was sending under the handle ‘Kindleaf’.
Arrest attempts were made at Phillips’ home address on October 26 2021, but officers were unable to locate him. It was quickly established that he’d fled to another country and a manhunt was then launched. He was sentenced to 14 years on Friday, October 20 at Chester Crown Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis.
