Patloikaphotoworks shared the shoot on Instagram. The photo of joy.the.carrion.bird was snapped at a previous year’s Dragon-Con. The costume is faithful to the Enchantress’ 1602 redesign. This version of the Enchantress leans into the character’s pagan origins, giving her antlers and a fur shawl. She is wearing a white dress underneath, and her eyes glow green. Loika also revealed the process of creating the epic shoot. He found joy.the.carrion.bird at Dragon Con and snapped the photo base.

One of the books’ central plot points was the treasure of the Templars, an object of such significance and power it could upend society. This treasure was revealed to be Thor’s hammer, and, if the Church were to reveal the existence of pagan gods, it could subvert their authority.
Joy.the.carrion.bird’s 1602-inspired Enchantress cosplay celebrates this unique take on one of Thor’s oldest villains. The character’s 1602 incarnation kept her grounded in the “temptress” role, but added in pagan elements, a call back to the character’s Norse origins; the antlers add to the creepiness. Joy.the.carrion.bird’s cosplay is comics-accurate, and Loika's digital effects take it a step further, creating a sense of otherworldly danger.
