The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) officers caught three men allegedly digging for copper cables in Kempton Park.
They were allegedly using a pickaxe and shovel to dig the cables out and a knife to cut the cables. EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa said the officers were patrolling the Kempton Park area when they saw the men. "As officers were patrolling around the Kempton Park area, they approached the corner of Director and Green Avenue, where they noticed a group of people in a trench suspected to be digging for copper cables.
"The officers strategically positioned themselves around the group and intercepted three males between the ages of 28 and 36, found tampering and digging for copper cables in the Kempton Park Area." Thepa said the men were charged with tampering with essential infrastructure.We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
