Childline says the campaign aims to prevent a mental health pandemic among SA children through the use of online therapy-based and motivational talks.
Childline Mental Health Matters for Kids Project Head, Neli Manzi said,"it is very alarming how COVID-19 impacted of children's mental health, the UN poll found that the respondent admitted to be struggling with mental issues but never sought help, this is alarming."
"And also Childline also found a huge increase in calls since the advent of COVID, emotional abuse calls has increased by 170%, domestic violence calls, 156%...suicidal by a 132% and psychological are at 200% when it comes to children that call Childline."
